CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Intermediate Court of Appeals of West Virginia today announced Judge Daniel W. Greear has been selected to serve as the Court’s chief judge during 2026. 

This will be Judge Greear’s second tenure as the Intermediate Court’s chief judge; he served as the Court’s inaugural chief judge from July 2022 through December 2023. Judge Greear succeeds current Chief Judge Charles O. Lorensen, who has been serving in the role throughout 2025. Judge S. Ryan White also serves on the three-member Court.
