Pfizer, Inc., No. 16-0927 - Petitioner, a Michigan resident, appeals the Mass Litigation Panel’s August 30 2016, order that applied Michigan law to petitioner’s claim for failure to warn and granted respondents’ motion for summary judgment on petitioner’s claims for “strict liability, failure to warn, and negligence.” Justice Ketchum disqualified. Judge Reeder sitting by special assignment.

SER Raven Crest Contracting, et al. v. Hon. William S. Thompson, and Larry Adkins, No. 17-0620 - Petitioner seeks a writ of prohibition challenging a circuit court order denying its motion to dismiss based upon the two year statute of limitations in the Human Rights Act.

John Kay, Jr., et al. v. McGuireWoods, LLP, No. 15-0606 - Petitioners, former shareholders of Kay Co., and Kay Co.’s successor corporation, Kay Co., LLC, filed suit against their former legal counsel, McGuireWoods, LLC.

Bruce and Amy Jacobs , No. 16-1132 - Petitioner appeals the November 9, 2016, order of the Circuit Court of Kanawha County County that granted Respondents and Counterclaim Plaintiffs Second Motion for Declaratory Judgement or, in the Alternative, Motion to Stay Arbitration in this matter stemming from petitioner’s construction work on respondents’ home. Withdrawn

SER Fairmont State University v. Hon. Patrick N. Wilson, Galen Henson, and Albert Magro, No. 17-0630 - Petitioner seeks a writ of prohibition challenging a circuit court order that denied its motion to dismiss based upon (1) failure to provide pre-suit notice, (2) improper venue, and (3) failure to state a claim.

State of West Virginia v. Brian Hayslett, No. 15-0933 - Petitioner appeals Raleigh County order of August 20, 2016 sentencing him to life without mercy after a jury verdict of guilty to first degree murder.

In Re: L.H., No. 17-0102 - Petitioner father appeals the circuit court’s dispositional order in this abuse and neglect matter.

In Re: L.H. and I.H., No. 17-0103 - Petitioner mother appeals the circuit court’s dispositional order in this abuse and neglect matter.

Charles Patrick Heaster, Individually and as Representative of the 100 Qualified Petitioners v. Gregory L. Robinson, No. 17-0558 - Rule to Show Cause against court reporter, Lauren Belisle. Dismissed.
