About the Drug Court
The Putnam County Adult Drug Court is currently in the development stage and will be operational by early 2014.
Court Personnel Involved
Circuit Judge Joseph Reeder, the presiding Drug Court Judge,is a graduate of West Virginia University and West Virginia University College of Law. Judge Reeder maintained a private law practice for more than twenty-one years, litigating matters for businesses and individuals throughout West Virginia. Judge Reeder was an associate and partner in several Charleston law firms and was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia. Judge Reeder also served as a hearing examiner for Office of Health Facilities Licensure and Certification.
LaKeisha Barron-Brown serves as the Adult Drug Court Probation Officer for the Putnam County Drug Court. She previously worked as the drug court counselor for Kanawha County. She a 1994 graduate of South Charleston High School and graduated from Marshall University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. In 2002, she received a master’s degree in correctional counseling from Marshall University Graduate College.
